DoView Outcomes Software
What’s it for?
Use DoView to build easily accessible strategy diagrams and outcomes models for organizations, initiatives, or systems. Think of it as a simple outcomes processor that lets you play around with outcomes structures for strategy or any other purpose. Works well for building models in real-time with groups.
Is it any Good?
Well, it won Gartner Cool Vendor recognition which many startups would die for. Gartner described it as elegant and simple. It’s retro now but has a cult following from those who just can’t find its features and ease of use elsewhere. It’s a bit like a simple, agile Swiss Army Knife designed for doing outcomes work. For those of you who like things to be conceptually robust, it’s theory-based (watch the last video below). It has been used in 50+ countries. Built by psychologist, strategist, and outcomes theorist Dr Paul Duignan, software engineer extraordinaire Richard Proctor, Jennifer Parker, and Dr Matthew Duignan.
What are its unique features?
Enthusiasts like it because they can't find the combo of these features: cloning boxes on other pages (to create large-scale models); making links between boxes on different pages; showing visual alignment between outcomes and activities; and optimized for use creating models in real-time with groups. It’s not drawing software, it’s best thought of as a simple outcomes processor.
